Meet Nicholas J Broughan

Five years of service pin awarded to Nicholas J Broughan upon completion of five full years of service to the County of Caroline.
BACKGROUND
I am a 27-year-old dedicated husband and father of two young children, and I have called the Western District of Caroline County my home since 2011. My commitment to serving this community began in 2018 at our local Ladysmith Food Lion, where I worked hard to quickly earn a promotion to Front End Supervisor.
This early leadership experience led me to a career in public safety, starting as an E-911 Dispatcher at the Caroline County Sheriff's Office. In 2021, I transferred to the role of Patrol Deputy, where I had the honor of serving our residents on the front lines until October 2025. I continued my mission of public service as an officer with the Town of Haymarket Police Department, before coming to the University of Mary Washington Police Department where I currently serve as a police officer. I am running for the Board of Supervisors to bring this same level of dedication and accountability to our local government, ensuring a safe and prosperous future for all our families.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Nicholas envisions a future for Western Caroline built on the foundations of safety, transparency, and smart growth. Drawing on his years of experience in public safety, he is committed to ensuring our first responders have the resources they need to keep our families safe.
His goal is to foster an environment where local small businesses can thrive, preserve the unique rural heritage of our district, and provide every resident with a direct voice in their local government. By prioritizing fiscal accountability and collaborative leadership, Nicholas aims to deliver independent results that secure a prosperous tomorrow for the next generation of Caroline residents.
